Felt my heart tighten looking at this but I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t take a handful

I’m in Devon and call them scribbles.

Also haven’t seen them in decades but one of the chippies near me started doing them! Seem to put them in randomly for free. So good but these days I can’t many before I feel sick.

These are as evil and effective as sugar free gummi bears.

Best part of eating at Long John Silver.

If those are Long John’s batter scraps I’d devour those

  7. 20 years ago this was the best part of a plate from Captain D’s. We called them cracklins.

In Japan, similar tempura batter bits from the fryer are commonly used as topping for udon. It’s not necessarily strange

I can’t remember what video it was in but I think it said they were called, “scrumps”. Think it was about British chip shops.

When I was a kid I used to peel the batter off onion rings and only eat that part. Not much different lol.

As someone from North Lincolnshire you have no idea what you’re talking about

I used to ask LJS for the bits with my order. They were so good 😊
